Promoting adoption of individual health records for everyone everywhere.
Our goal is to support community health assessment projects:
- That are staffed by local teams in developing countries;
- Where teams make proposals for funding of the projects;
- In which the proposals are sent to governments and large NGOs.
- We work with the teams to make sure that the proposals get funded and that the projects ultimately achieve their goals.
In projects that are appropriate for HR4E software, data collection and analysis is fundamental. Teams employing the HR4E approach ensure that individual health records are created for each patient evaluated, and that the records obtained are stored in a standards-based format that promotes data interchange, analysis and aggregation.
We are working to seed this process by making available to and supporting local teams in developing countries teams with intellectual property from two main sources:
- Software that produces interchangeable records and supports health assessment efforts across a wide variety of circumstances;
- Education and training materials around the topics of managing software development and business management fundamentals.
A 501(c)(3) tax-exempt not-for-profit charitable and educational organization dedicated to promoting the widespread adoption of individual health records in the developing world. We’re focusing on electronic health records — the most viable type of individual health record for developing countries. HR4E-copyrighted software and educational material is available free-of-charge to anyone who agrees to the standard open-source licensing agreement (APACHE 2.0) we require.
